All aboard please!

Vinny’s Trailer Tours proved as popular as ever at today’s bbq.  Brilliant to see so many youngsters on site.

BBQ This Sunday

Sunshine and Fun guaranteed from 12.30 onwards!  Gill has all the details you need.

Pollinators on Parade

There were pollinators a plenty on the plots today: like the rest of us, scudding before the storms threatened for the afternoon perhaps.

Hopefully, they and lots of plotters will be back around on Sunday 11.00 – 12.30 for our Community Sunday Activities – with added coffee and cake for all those with two legs!

Aberdeen in Bloom Competition

Stuart

Application forms for the 2017 competition are now available and entries have to be returned got to be returned to Aberdeen City Council by 14 July.  We have always been big supporters of the City’s, Britain in Bloom efforts and I hope we will see the usual big entry from plotters this year.  A good level of entries helps show how keen we plotters are on our allotments and the Council’s work to support green spaces and gardening.

Plotters can pick up an entry from from the Bothy or from Council offices and libraries.  Alternatively, you can submit your entry online via the Aberdeen in Bloom Page.

I hope we will see a bumper crop of entries this year!

Gardening Scotland Pallet Gardens

Our visit to Gardening Scotland gave us all sorts of good ideas for Primary visit activities next year. Lots of imagination and talent on show.

Cometh the hour cometh ….

Our Community Sunday activities got off to a rather chaotic start today , with the usual suspects in very frisky and somewhat indisciplined form.  Peter for one seemed to be re-living a past experience of some peasant revolt or other.

Luckily, once he was done resting his fork, Phil stepped in, quickly establishing his front-line HQ and demonstrating strong and stable leadership (where have I heard this phrase before?) he started issuing orders to the troops from his mobile management communications device.

He soon had the team whipped into shape. As you can see this made a world of difference.

The phrase, Dads’ Army meets the Women’s Land Army somehow springs to mind. However, great progress was made on the Wild Flower Area Mark II and it was a great pleasure to welcome Priscilla and her family on site.

All in all it was another great Community Sunday.  Thanks to all who pitched up and apologies to those (many) others who yet again missed out on getting their photos taken.
