Thanks go to Phil for this post and photo:
Here’s Val ready to cycle home with a rucksack of blossom. Did it see home or get blown away on the journey????
There were pollinators a plenty on the plots today: like the rest of us, scudding before the storms threatened for the afternoon perhaps.
Hopefully, they and lots of plotters will be back around on Sunday 11.00 – 12.30 for our Community Sunday Activities – with added coffee and cake for all those with two legs!
We have some new additions to our stock of tools which can be borrowed by any plotter.
These were very kindly donated by Anne, an Aberdeen resident who is soon to move into a new home where she will no longer need them. Anne contacted us via the website.
The tools are now available in the GFAA tool store by the micro plots. Ask any plotter if you need to know access details. The pots and trays have been left by the bothy for uplift by anyone who can use them.
We have just received the interim report from OPAL and the University of Aberdeen on our flatworm problem. It does not make for great reading as it suggests that over 70% of our plots are infested with these pests.
Suggestions as to how to deal with flatworms, taken from this very helpful report, has been incorporated into a new page under the Advice and Support tab above. You will also find a copy of the interim report.
