Dr. Anja Byg of the Hutton Institute has been in touch and Garthdee plotters are invited to participate in this research project.

I am writing to you as part of a research project carried out by social scientists from the James Hutton Institute and Scotland’s Rural College. The research focuses on ways of managing soils and biodiversity in Scotland. As part of this research project, we are looking for people who are growing things at different scales from garden owners and allotment holders to farmers and other land owners/managers and who would be willing to be interviewed by one of our team. The interview would take around one-and-a-half hours and would take place at a time and place convenient to you. It would focus on what you do on your plot, your experiences as well as your more general views on nature, biodiversity and soils. No specific knowledge, expertise or kind of approach is required to take part in the interview only a willingness to share your experiences with us. Attached is some more information about the research. We would be grateful if you could let us know if you would be interested in taking part and if you could pass on this email and attached information to other plot holders at the Garthdee Field Allotment Association.
