The GFAA school visits team were invited to Kaimhill for a wee party by the Primary threes and fours who had visited with us this session. We had a great time, but plotters might want to note their reaction when they found out Peter (Plot 29) would not be able to join us.
Things changed when we said he would be back with the team next time!
As plotters, we all know the importance of encouraging insect pollinators. The RHS Garden Magazine for July has an interesting article by Kate Bradbury recommending plants from seeds that can give pollinators a big boost.
Kate’s recommendations are:
Borage
Cornflowers
Cosmos
Field Poppy
Honeywort (Cerinthe)
Nasturtium
Scabious
Snapdragon (Antirrhinum)
Sunflower
Viper’s Bugloss (Echium)
Many of these are to be seen on our plots and site. Can anyone comment or suggest alternatives?

Spotted on Plot 85 in the last week or so, making use of a welcome shower of rain.
We could not have hoped for a better day to work on the new raised bed we have built for Orchard Brae School’s Nursery.
Don’t worry, we did finally sort out our alternating layers and corners and got them into the right order! The bed is three meters long by one meter wide and almost half a meter high and build with timbers kindly donated by Robertson Construction.
