Some Spring Surprises

Thanks to the continued generosity of Raymond (Plot 83) and Pete (Plot 33) and many other benefactors unknown, our Community Seed Swop area is now brimming full with viable seeds for the current growing season.

Thanks too are due to Bob of One Seed Forward who kindly donated two bags of seed potatoes for use by plotters and volunteers.

Feel free to help yourselves to seeds or potatoes from the Octagon. No need to be too greedy: hopefully there will be plenty to go around, but they are offered while stocks last and on a first come, first served basis.

If you don’t find what you are looking for, remember you can get a 40% discount on all seeds from Dobies online when you use the Code SUGD196X on checkout. Other orders attract a 5% discount if you use the same code.

Moving Things Forward

After months of delays, repeated failures and resulting frustrations, we finally managed to find a firm willing and able to come and remove the last remaining large storage container this week.

The removal clears the space for the construction of a large storage facility that will be positioned next to the new Cabin Workshop, taking the pressure off of it, the Lawnmower Garage, the Bothy and the Octagon. We will now be able to get each of these working more efficiently for the purposes they were intended. It’s especially pleasing that this means we will be able to reinstate the storage space for the bank of communal tools for the use of new arrivals on site and Micro-Plotters.

We would like to acknowledge the generosity of Barry and Kay who offered the Association their large shed for communal use when they gave up their plot in the course of last year. We hope to get it erected and refurbed in its new position over the next few weeks.

Bonfire 2024

Thanks go to all the plotters, volunteers and GF friends who made it along to help feed the flames this Sunday passed.

Shed Shifters Supreme

Our recent Community Sunday activities included moving a very heavy shed base. It took some effort, but we got it done and the team were quick to celebrate their triumph.
