Moving Things Forward

After months of delays, repeated failures and resulting frustrations, we finally managed to find a firm willing and able to come and remove the last remaining large storage container this week.

The removal clears the space for the construction of a large storage facility that will be positioned next to the new Cabin Workshop, taking the pressure off of it, the Lawnmower Garage, the Bothy and the Octagon. We will now be able to get each of these working more efficiently for the purposes they were intended. It’s especially pleasing that this means we will be able to reinstate the storage space for the bank of communal tools for the use of new arrivals on site and Micro-Plotters.

We would like to acknowledge the generosity of Barry and Kay who offered the Association their large shed for communal use when they gave up their plot in the course of last year. We hope to get it erected and refurbed in its new position over the next few weeks.

Bonfire 2024

Thanks go to all the plotters, volunteers and GF friends who made it along to help feed the flames this Sunday passed.

Shed Shifters Supreme

Our recent Community Sunday activities included moving a very heavy shed base. It took some effort, but we got it done and the team were quick to celebrate their triumph.

Thanks go to all of the committee, plotters and volunteers who came along and apologies to those who missed out on the photo opps.

Community Sunday Call

Our first Community Sunday of the year is scheduled for this coming Sunday, February 18 2024.

Community Sundays are a great way to get to know our fellow plotters and volunteers while getting some much needed repairs, maintenance and improvements done in good company around our site.

If you can spare an hour or so on Sunday 18 February at 11.00am it would be great to have your help. We end with a coffee and cake session at 12.30.

Poly Spring Clean

This post was requested by Phil and Susan on Plot 35.

Thanks to Ruth, Val, Giovanna and Irene for all their hard work this morning. Sorry about there being no tea or coffee – I forgot!!!!

We look forward to the poly tunnel groaning with produce this season.

Regards,

Philip and Susan

We are much Re-leafed.

ACC delivered several loads of excellent leaves to us over the last few days. They are nicely dry and so easily handled. As the ground in the Southeast corner of the site was too wet and soft for the delivery trucks, they have been dropped off in the bay to the North of our site. Please feel free to help yourselves while stocks last – leaves were in short supply this year for some reason. It would be a great help if you could take from the western end of the pile: this will keep the car parking area free – and allow for more deliveries.
