Squadrons of stunning butterflies continue to circle our site. This was the latest I spotted visiting the Sedum on my plot.
Any other offerings caught on camera?
Our Allotment Association at Garthdee Field has been short-listed for a grant from the Skipton Building Society. The final award is by public vote. We hope to use the grant to improve facilities in our Community Garden and so bring the benefits of plotting to youngsters and adults with disabilities and health issues. If you could follow this link and vote for GFAA we’d be very grateful.

On the afternoon of 3 October GFAA will welcome to our site 40 students from Gray’s School of Art 1st Year Communication Programme. The students will be asked to investigate and document the location through, illustration, photography, mapping, colour, typography and so on. Their Tutor, Iain Morrison will be joining the students on their visit. It is always very interesting to see how visitors view our site from their different perspectives and I am sure all plotters will be pleased to extend a warm welcome to the students.
Our new It’s Your Neighbourhood (IYN) Assessors, Ian and Sandra visited this week. It was a pleasure to meet them and to show them around our site.
I’ve got to say Garthdee Field was looking wonderful for the visit. Thanks go to all who contributed to getting the site into the best possible shape for the visit. It will be a week or more before we get feedback on the assessment, but whatever the outcome, I am sure everyone did their very best to present our site at its best.
