Bonfire and Skip Success

I want to say a big thank you to all who contributed to making our bonfire and refuse skip collection such a success over this weekend. I don’t think our site has ever looked better.

Towering Inferno

It was great to have such a good turnout and especially good to see so many generations at work on so many plots and as part of our general tidy up activities.  2014 is off to a great start!

Treasure Trove Found

After 26 years of digging, I finally unearthed treasure on the plot!
It looked like a coin all encrusted in grunge. Perhaps it would be a Roman coin?
After a few scrapes and scrubs the treasure turned out to be a humble halfpenny with George VI on one side and a sailing ship on the other. But the date was auspicious – 1942 the year I was born – so I’m keeping the humble halfpenny as a good luck token!
Lucky?

Rubbish Skip and Bonfire Weekend

Just a reminder that a skip will be available on site over this w/e at the front car-parking area beside Garthdee Road. Metal should be placed at the side of the skip – not inside. We expect the skip/trailer to be delivered between 12-30 and 3-30pm this Friday and it will be uplifted on Monday morning.
A good opportunity to get rid of unwanted carpets and corrugated-iron!
We are planning a bonfire on Saturday so make sure any unwanted wood is placed at the top car-park. No need to put wood in the skip.
If you have a spare moment to help with collection and removal of any rubbish into the skip please give us a hand on Saturday or Sunday.
Please don’t overload the skip/trailer.
Thanks,
Stuart

Bonfire May 2014

By popular demand we will have another bonfire at the allotment to give everyone a last opportunity to get rid of unwanted wood and old rasp canes etc. Please place any woody items at the top end of the site next to the old Deeside railway line beside the car-park. A small pile of material has already been placed there. We will have the bonfire on Saturday 31st May around midday.
After the bonfire, please do not deposit any material in that area.
