Diary Date – AGM and General Meeting

Dear plotters

Our AGM and next General Meeting will take place at RGU’s Riverside East Building, Room 346, at 11.00 am on Saturday 4 November. Free parking is available at RGU.
The AGM addresses reports from Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, election of Committee members and amendments to the Constitution. The General Meeting which follows will address general Association business, specifically on-site activities and how these are delivered.
All specific points for agendas should be advised to me by 21st October for inclusion in the detailed agendas which will be circulated two weeks before the AGM/GM.
We look forward to your agenda items and to seeing all who can make it to the meetings,
Best Regards
Michael Hart
Secretary – GFAA

Allotment Life

Thanks go to Pat and Stuart for alerting me to this, Allotment Life, FaceBook group.

I have been following them for a week or so now and they seem a lively, friendly and knowledgeable lot.

I have added a link from our Links Page.  Don’t forget, we have our own FaceBook page!

Trees and Bees Survey

The, It’s your Neighbourhood programme, had trees, bees and butterflies as a special focus this year and this prompted us to take a look at the trees and bees found on site.  We decided to conduct a little informal research and thanks goes to all who contributed ideas and information.

Our first report of interim findings is attached via the link below.  All comments, additions or corrections will be gratefully received.

There will be a Raffle with proceeds going to GFAA and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Please send any queries or offers of help on the day to Gill Earle – g.earl20@btinternet.com / 07951021319.  Offers to loan BBQs, gazebos, chairs or picnic tables would be especially helpful.

Identifying our trees

In support of the It’s Your Neighbourhood 2017 theme – Birds, Bees and Trees – we have begun to survey and identify the trees around our site.

Marion (Plot 88) has created a prototype of a label we could use to identify each tree for interested plotters and visitors.

However, we need your help.  Can we have suggestions please as to materials and finishes that might be used to weather-proof the labels?

Sunday 25 June BBQ Day!

Don’t miss out – put the GFAA Early Summer BBQ date in your diary now!
