GFAA Outdoor Classroom/Wheelchair-Accessible Toilet Opening and Late Summer Barbecue
Saturday 9th September 2016
from 12.00 pm
Plotters and our volunteers, along with their families and friends, are invited to our Opening Event and Late Summer Barbecue at the community orchard area of the Garthdee Field Allotments Site.
The opening ceremony with drinks will take place from 12.00-12.30 with the BBQ to follow immediately.
Please bring your preferred BBQ food and drink.
Entertainment will include a French Boules Competition, a Children’s Treasure Hunt, Live Music and (back by popular demand) Vinnie’s Trailer Tours.
There will be a Raffle with proceeds going to GFAA and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Donations for the raffle will be gratefully received by
Gill Earle (Plot 64), Stuart Oram (Plot 8) or Norman Coutts (Plot 81)
Please send any queries or offers of help on the day to Gill Earle – firstname.lastname@example.org / 07951021319. Offers to loan BBQs, gazebos, chairs or picnic tables would be especially helpful.
This coming Sunday – 16 July – is Community Sunday. We are hoping for a good turnout of plotters as it is one of the last before our annual, It’s Your Neighbourhood Assessment Visit. We want to get the site into good shape.
We will follow the usual format, starting at 11.00 and stopping for coffee and cake at 12.30 or so. However, as a wee experiment we are planning to hold a General Meeting at the same time. The purpose of the General Meeting is to gather plotters’ views on priorities and issues of current concern and for the future.
We hope this will be a convenient arrangement for plotters and will help improve communication within the Association. I look forward to seeing you you on the day.
We hoped Miss Rennie’s Primary 4/5 Class would rise to the biodiversity treasure hunt challenge and find it fun: and of course they did not disappoint.
Getting to the big message, but where are the boys?
Ah, there they are…
So what’s the big message?
Did we have fun? We sure did!
Thanks go to Phil for this post and photo:
Here’s Val ready to cycle home with a rucksack of blossom. Did it see home or get blown away on the journey????
Not even record temperatures stop Gordon and Grant putting in a shift.
